Clinical Trials: The U.S. National Institutes of Health, through its National Library of Medicine, has developed ClinicalTrials.gov to provide patients, family members and members of the public current information about clinical research studies. Health Sciences and Human Services Library Consumer Health Links: This University of Maryland library is the Regional Medical Library of the National Library of Medicine and a sponsor of this project. History of Medicine: This resource, from the National Library of Medicine, contains resources for historical scholarship in medicine and related sciences. Interactive Health Modules: These tutorials, found at the National Library of Medicine MEDLINEplus site, are interactive health education resources from the Patient Education Institute. Using animated graphics each tutorial explains a procedure or condition in easy-to-read language. You can also listen to the tutorial. NOTE: These tutorials require a special Flash plug-in, version 4 or above. If you do not have Flash, you will be prompted to obtain a free download of the software before you start the tutorial. National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Southeastern/Atlantic Region: Links to consumer health information sites as well as information for health professionals and medical librarians. Western Maryland InfoHealth is funded by a subcontract from the NN/LM SE/A. Organ and Tissue Donation: Enhances the quality of human life through the provision of human organs and tissues for transplantation. |
