American Academy of Pediatrics, Maryland Chapter: The American Academy of Pediatrics is a national organization composed of 55,000 pediatricians dedicated to the health, safety and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults. The Maryland Chapter is the endorsed state affiliation to the national organization. Healthy Families Garrett County: Voluntary home visitation program that empowers parents to give their children the best beginning in life. HFGC provides support to families, answers questions about pregnancy and what to eat as well as making referrals to other community services - such as childbirth classes. HFGC helps parents to identify and respond to the child's needs. Provides information on what to expext as the baby grows, making the home "baby safe" and how to encourge optimum development (including brain development) in your child.
